My WHY!!!
Mableton is a great place to live for many reasons – safe neighborhoods, schools preparing our young people for their next endeavors, expansive open and green spaces, great trails, quality city services, and county commissioners who see our unique beauty and opportunities. Mableton is a city uniquely positioned between Atlanta, the Cumberland area, and Smyrna to be a destination for people throughout the metro area and beyond to live, work, play, and shop. As the only industrial and residential City with a major hospital system adjacent to our borders, we should see Mableton as a health and entertainment district for our future.
As a newly formed City - we cannot be complacent – Let’s commit to moving Mableton forward for the good of future generations. As a vigilant visionary, I desire to ensure Mableton maintains its superior quality of living for generations. I see Mableton as a city to journey in, not just a place to start life. I am committed to moving Mableton forward and being a part of the solution.
Let’s build Mableton TOGETHER!!!
A diversified business base providing space for industrial, small & large businesses to thrive is the footprint of Mableton. We have the majority of the necessary infrastructure to build good jobs and industry into our City, which will add revenue so the tax burden does not fall squarely on homeowners. This is a crucial aspect of my plan to bring more business to our City. The County will continue to provide school and real estate tax, which means we begin to utilize business tax and other revenue streams to run our City.
Mableton can be a City for ALL with a focus on business recovery, retention, and growth of our business community. Come grow with us!
I look forward to working with our County Commissioners, Georgia Mass Transit, and the business community to promote economic sustainability opportunities throughout Mableton.
While watching the housing market ebb and flow and now expand past the limits of budgets in our City, plus the average time a house stays on the market and the stock of available lots continuing to decline; building more options in and around our new City is the only way we thrive for generations to come. Working with my City Council members, neighboring City Councils, and the County Commissioners; there is an opportunity for all types of home development in Mableton. Because of these issues, we are at a deficit with our local First Responders, Educators and small business workers/owners having an opportunity to live in our City. We know having a healthy community is determined by providing for our young people and also to buy homes. We must allow our neighbors to age comfortably and with dignity in homes suitable to their health and activity levels.
Land prices and building costs can make it economically impossible for builders to construct affordable and attainable housing in Mableton independently.
Mableton will be a place that stands up for all our citizens’ health, safety, and wellness. We will continue partnering with our First Responder community to build programs where our children and citizens of all ages can learn more about our role in keeping ourselves and our City safe.
As a veteran of the United States Navy, I sincerely appreciate the commitment of all law enforcement, mental health professionals, and first responders who are called to serve. Mableton will continue to provide world-class training programming and facilities to support these professionals in handling any emergency. Likewise, we will open the doors to these facilities and training programs to educate the public and recruit the next generation of professionals from within our community.
Mableton will build upon its current vicinity to world-class hospitals & emergency care to create more services supporting continuing and routine care (i.e., family doctors, dentists, occupational therapists, and specialized female care).
Our new City will have a number of positions to fill providing services for our City. Positions like a City Manager and other City officials as well as code enforcement and sanitation companies and my goal will be to both hire within the City and ensure we create a pipeline for our young people to step into these positions when they are trained and ready.
The quality of life for all citizens of Mableton is significantly increased by continuing to maintain our open spaces and trails. These environments promote a wellness factor for those who enjoy hiking, biking, walking, and running and are also a source of transportation for some in our City.
